President Onishi gets ice bucket thrown over his head at Isetan "ULTRA" party

Aug 23, 2014

On August 22nd, the pop-up shop "ISETAN ULTRA FASHION STAGE," currently open on the 3rd floor of Isetan Shinjuku, held a night party, "ISETAN ULTRA FASHION STAGE NIGHT OUT featuring ULTRA JAPAN."

At the night party, DJ Arisa Ueno, who is also a model and brand producer, and DJ KSUKE, who also performed at ULTRA KOREA in June this year, played. Around 100 people gathered, and drinks were served, transforming a corner of the floor into a party space.

This pop-up shop is a limited-time select shop that expresses the world of the American music festival "ULTRA," which will be making its first appearance in Japan on September 27th and 28th. The casual, futuristic festival fashion featured a selection of brands like FACETASM, HOUSE OF HOLLAND, MIHARAYASUHIRO, EACH×OTHER, and VFILES, as well as headphones and earphones from music equipment manufacturer Pioneer.

After the party ended, Isetan's official song, "ISETAN-TAN-TAN," played, and employees danced before President Taiyo Onsen appeared. After being nominated by interior designer Yasumichi Morita and calligrapher Shishu for the "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!", a charity campaign that's currently garnering media attention, Taiyo poured ice water over his head. After the challenge, employees and customers exchanged high-fives, and the excitement of the night's party was evident.
