Prada has released its first iPad app, "IL PALAZZO." IL PALAZZO is one of Prada's multi-platform projects that combine handcrafted art with cutting-edge technology. The app is available for free download from iTunes.
The virtual palace is decorated with paintings from the Fall/Winter 2012 men's collection, and visitors can freely explore it. The paintings were created by Richard Haines, a former menswear designer, fashion illustrator, and blogger for "What I sawa today."
The video was directed by James Lima. As director and creative director of Shiny New TV & Hi Production, he has worked on video productions, apps, web designs, and more for numerous fashion brands, including Prada, Versace, Versus, Zegna, Bruno Magli, Alexander Wang, Loewe, and Louis Vuitton.
Prada's Fall/Winter 2012 collection was unveiled in January 2012. The show space, designed by AMO, led by architect Rem Koolhaas, was modeled after a palace. World-renowned actors such as Adrien Brody and Gary Oldman have appeared as models in the show and advertising visuals.
