Parasol brand Coci la elle will publish its first visual book, "Kasa," in late February. To commemorate the publication, an exhibition titled "Visual Book 'Kasa' Publication Commemorative Exhibition: Coci la elle" will be held from February 15th to 21st at Spiral Garden in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo.
Coci la elle sells one-of-a-kind parasols that capture the essence of everyday life through color and design, as well as umbrellas, scarves, and accessories with original prints. The first visual book, "Kasa," showcases the visuals that founder Higashi Chika has created with various photographers since the brand's launch, as well as photographs taken specifically for the book. Other content includes all of Coci la elle's one-of-a-kind parasols, the background to their creation, and an essay by Higashi.
At the publication commemorative exhibition, approximately 100 one-of-a-kind parasols will be on display and for sale. Other exhibits include the original hand-printed designs and fabrics used on the umbrellas, the handles that define Koshiraeru's umbrellas, and photographs from the book. Also on display will be video works themed around the phenomena of "umbrellas" and "falling," as well as sound works by the sound design team WHITELIGHT.
