Maison Mihara Yasuhiro opens new store in Osaka, celebrating with limited edition hand-sewn shoes

Feb 20, 2017

MIHARA YASUHIRO in Horie, Osaka, will open its second flagship store in Japan, Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO, following the Omotesando store, on March 3rd.

The store's design is based on the Tokyo store. The pale blue-gray color evokes the industrial space that designer Mihara Yasuhiro himself finds comfortable. This blue-gray color is inspired by the paint color found on vintage furniture, and according to Mihara Yasuhiro, it evokes both "old" and "new," making it a color he never tires of looking at. The stairs and doors in the designer's home are also the same color, and for him it symbolizes "the color of everyday life."

In addition, to commemorate the opening, the store will be releasing the Osaka store-exclusive Bordeaux color (87,000 yen) of the hand-sewn "Novel Jean Shoes," which Mihara has a deep attachment to and which even top shoemakers can only make two pairs of per day, as well as the Osaka store-exclusive Khaki color (58,000 yen) of Mihara Yasuhiro's classic item, the "Giant Trekking Shoes."
