3.1 Phillip Lim presented its Fall 2017 Men's Collection. Creative Director Phillip Lim commissioned Toronto-based model and friend Paolo Roldan to create his own wardrobe and style himself. By entrusting the roles of model, muse, and stylist to one person, Lim aimed to break away from the prevailing cliché approach. The collection offers a documentary-like look into personal style, telling the story of how modern men dress. Regarding the collection, Phillip Lim commented, "I wanted to bring the clothes closer to real men. That's why I asked Paolo to 'do whatever he wanted.' He has an instinctive spontaneity that connects with clothes and a unique perspective that brings out fresh, sophisticated street elegance."
