MM6 Maison Margiela will be opening pop-up stores across Japan starting February 22nd, recreating the spirit of its Spring/Summer 2017 presentation in London. At the London venue, a total of 100 denim "Japanese" bags were displayed on an entire wall. Using them as a canvas, the design team performed a live painting performance. Paint was also applied to the mannequins and garments on display, turning the entire venue into a showcase, showcasing the brand's signature contemporary and creative world. The newly opened pop-up store will exhibit and sell "Japanese" bags (priced at ¥34,000), each hand-painted with a unique color and texture. A wide variety of items, including those from the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, will also be available. Each "Japanese" bag on display will also have a serial number. The period is from February 22nd to 28th at Osaka Takashimaya and Hankyu Umeda Main Store, from March 22nd to 28th at Isetan Shinjuku Main Store, from April 12th to 18th at Yokohama Takashimaya and Iwataya Main Store, and from April 26th to May 2nd at Ginza Mitsukoshi Main Store.
