Raymond Savignac's "Posters that bring smiles" exhibition will be held at Bunkamura Gallery

Feb 23, 2017

The "Raymond Savignac Exhibition" will be held at Bunkamura Gallery in Shibuya, Tokyo, from March 8th to 20th.
Born in 1907 in Jeanne-Hachette, Paris's 15th arrondissement, Raymond Savignac was self-taught and worked in the design industry until he was 28 years old. At the age of 41, his posters for Montsavon's Cow's Milk soap became a huge hit, and from that day on, the streets of Paris were filled with Savignac's cheerful works, bringing smiles to passersby's faces. The Vera Montebello Municipal Museum houses hundreds of Savignac's works.
The exhibition will bring together all of the posters from that time that brought smiles to so many people, and will be on display and for sale along with his precious original drawings.
