Adidas opens its first store specializing in "city running" in Harajuku

Feb 25, 2017

Adidas Japan Co., Ltd. will open the "Adidas Brand Core Store Harajuku" (1st floor, YM Square Harajuku, 4-31-10 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) on March 10th.

The new store is Adidas Japan's first attempt at focusing on "city running," and will carry sports performance products with a focus on running.

This is the second store in the world, following the New York store, to feature a "STADIUM" concept, and the first in Japan. By treating the city as the field and the store as the stadium's backyard, the store aims to provide creative inspiration to consumers playing in the city.

To commemorate the opening, the second installment of the "TOKYO EDITION" series, which went on sale in February, will be available on March 10th as "Harajuku" limited edition footwear models: "adizero Japan boost 3 Shadow District" (100 pairs limited to 16,500 yen) and "PureBOOST X Shadow District" (50 pairs limited to 15,000 yen).In addition, on March 25th, the "mi UltraBOOST" from the "UltraBOOST" series, which allows for original customization, will be available as a Harajuku store exclusive service, with only 600 pairs available (27,000 yen).

In addition, as a new base for the running community "adidas Runners of Tokyo," which will meet every Sunday morning, free baggage storage will be available, and services such as shoe rentals and introductions to recommended running courses are also planned.

In addition, until February 28th, the official online store's special page (http://shop.adidas.jp/running/community/index.cgi) is also accepting participants for the "GREEN LIGHT RUN TOKYO" running challenge, which involves running through Tokyo to the store without getting caught at any traffic lights.
