Starting with the 2014 Spring/Summer collection, TOMMY will launch the "M.W FOR TOMMY" capsule collection, directed by BEDWIN director Masashi Watanabe. The collection will be available at 37 directly managed stores as well as select shops.
The launching 2014 Spring/Summer collection is inspired by "SLUM BEAUTIFUL," a track from the album "Stankonia" by iconic American hip-hop group OutKast. The collection features cropped pants, rugby shirts with tighter silhouettes and smaller armholes, and stadium jackets, evoking the designs and tastes seen in Shibuya and Harajuku during the DC brand's heyday in the 1980s and 1990s, with modern silhouettes and lengths. The designs are also designed with comfort in mind. The colors, based on white, blue, gray, and black, create a refreshing impression perfect for spring and summer.
They have also produced clothing in collaboration with Gramicci and Champion, and caps in collaboration with New Era. Prices include a jacket at 25,000 yen, pants at 12,000 yen, and shorts at 10,500 yen.
Tommy debuted in 2004 with the concept of "NEW YORK DOWNTOWN PREP with TOKYO TWIST," which mixes the essence of TOMMY HILFIGER with a new preppy style. They offer a unique style that incorporates Tokyo fashion and culture into the preppy style of downtown New York.
