Last year, Grand Seiko announced a regular model equipped with the new mechanical Hi-Beat movement, Caliber 9SA5. This innovative movement, which operates at a high beat rate of 36,000 vibrations per hour and achieves approximately 80 hours of power when fully wound, has earned it acclaim from watch enthusiasts worldwide for its high-quality dial featuring a majestic birch forest motif and its evolved design based on Japanese aesthetics. This model is equipped with Grand Seiko's exclusive next-generation Spring Drive movement, "Caliber 9RA2." By employing two different-sized barrels, one large and one small, known as "dual-sized barrels," the movement can run for approximately 120 hours (5 days) when fully wound, achieving an average accuracy of ±10 seconds per month, an astonishing level for a spring-powered watch. The automatic winding mechanism, the Magic Lever, is offset from its center position, successfully reducing the watch's thickness.
