Isetan Shinjuku will be holding a doublet 22SS Collection POP UP at Re-Style Plus on the 3rd floor of the main building from January 15th to January 25th, 2022. This season's theme for doublet is "My Way." Naughty clothes made in a nice way. Not only do they incorporate vegetable and fruit motifs into punk-inspired items, but they also use sustainable materials such as yarn recycled from discarded banana stalks and knitwear made from yarn made from milk protein, as well as items made with dyes made from discarded vegetables. This "punk" collection embodies the idea of "not being swayed by others, but thinking about what you want to do and following your own path." We hope that more customers will try out our collection, as we face the challenges of confronting our own identities and determining who we want to be. Select items will also be available in XS and women's sizes, exclusively at Isetan Shinjuku.

UPCYLE SLICE DENIM JAKET ¥495,000 (Size: M / Body: 100% cotton, Joints: 100% nylon)
If you had a ton of used denim, what would you do with it? There are many ways to achieve this, such as patchwork, docking, painting, or embroidery. We sought to create something that didn't fit into any of these categories, something that wasn't just done the way someone else did it. This material is made by stacking and compressing used denim, then slicing the surface parallel to the layering direction, like the grain of wood. Made using a unique technique, this garment is made using a technique where the natural flex that occurs when the denim is stacked reveals a unique pattern when cut. It's our own unique way of upcycling, something that no one else in the world has done before.

CROCHET CUT FRUITS TANK TOP ¥74,800 (Size: S / 50% Cotton, 50% Acrylic)
Crochet knitting is done with a crochet hook, creating a rough stitch. The knitting can be used to create floral and geometric patterns, and you may often see floral patterned blankets. By knitting each piece by hand, we are able to produce them without any waste. The motif we chose for the knitting pattern is a sliced tomato. The seeds are made with beads. The small size vest is made from 147 tomatoes, and the extra-large size is made from 177 tomatoes. We hope that you will wear this vest for a long time, keeping it fresh, just like these delicious tomatoes.


Women's size item exclusive to Isetan Shinjuku

MILK FIBER T-SHIRT 19,800 yen (Size: XS / 100% Promix fiber)
This knit is made using yarn made from milk protein and acrylic fiber. Because it is made from milk protein, the fibers contain a large amount of amino acids, which help create a smooth, comfortable material that is gentle on the skin. To think that clothes could be made from milk was so amazing that it seemed like aliens were behind it. We wanted to honestly express that surprise, so we embroidered a cattle mutilation motif on the chest. We dye the clothes we make from this milk with dye extracted from coffee. We thought, ``Maybe it will turn into a cafe latte?'' and finished them in our own way.

PHOTO PRINT PANTS 42,900 yen (Size: Women's F / 55% cotton, 45% silk)
Rip them and mend them, customize and arrange them yourself. Wear them with love, and create designs that are unique to you, born from the DIY spirit. Even if you were to design and make them from scratch, I believe it would be impossible to come up with a design that rivals that authentic reality. We created these trompe l'oeil pants in the hope of sharing their one-of-a-kind coolness. We used raw, unrefined silk spun from the cocoons of moths after they have emerged as the weft thread to create our original silk denim fabric, which has the softness of silk but also a casual feel with a napped texture.We printed each part of the fabric, creating our own unique trompe l'oeil pants with denim printed on the denim fabric.

BANANA JACQUAD KNIT PANTS 73,700 yen (Size: Women's F / 70% cotton, 30% dietary fiber (banana))
When bananas are harvested, the stems are left about 40-50cm above ground and the rest are cut down. After a while, new shoots grow from between the remaining stems and the plant bears fruit again 3-6 months later. The cut-down parts are then discarded, amounting to approximately 1 billion tonnes per year. These knit pants are made from yarn made from recycled fiber from discarded banana stems. The legs are bent in the knit to resemble the curve of a banana, creating its silhouette. The jacquard knit expresses the shadows of a banana, and when worn, you yourself become like a life-size banana. At first glance, it may look like a playful costume, like a mascot costume, but we take it seriously.

Founded in 2012. The 2013 Spring/Summer collection was presented at an exhibition. Like transforming words, the brand replaces parts of basic, standard items with unexpected ideas, transforming familiar items into "unusual everyday wear," and offers a complete range of items from clothing to accessories.

Profile of Designer Ino Masayuki
Born in Gunma Prefecture in 1979. After graduating from Tokyo Mode Gakuen, he gained experience as a corporate designer before working at MIHARA YASUHIRO, where he planned and produced shoes and accessories. He then launched doublet with pattern maker Murakami Takashi. In 2013, he was selected as the best in the professional category of the 2013 Tokyo New Designer Fashion Award. In 2017, he was selected for the Tokyo Fashion Award 2017, and held an exhibition in Paris and his first runway show at the 2017 Autumn/Winter Tokyo Collection Fashion Week. In 2018, he won the Grand Prix at the LVMH Prize.


What is Re-Style?


Re-Style is an independently curated shop that opened in Isetan Shinjuku in 1996. It stocks the latest collections from 70 to 80 domestic and international brands. This year marks the 25th anniversary of its founding, and the shop statement has been changed to "Beautiful Choice," proposing beautiful choices that fit the style of each individual's values and way of life. It is a styling shop that continues to edit and distribute not only clothing but also domestic and international brands from the latest collections to vintage items, based on its own unique concept.
