Saoirse Ronan, who is nominated for Best Actress at the 88th Academy Awards, which will be announced on February 28th (local time), has said that she will be attending the awards ceremony with her mother.

The 21-year-old Saoirse, who stars in "Brooklyn," a film about a young woman who moves from Ireland to New York in the 1950s, grew up in Ireland, just like the heroine. Attending a preview of the film at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, she was asked how she felt about being nominated, revealing her plans to go on a shopping spree, saying, "I have to go to the outlet stores."

Saoirse, who has just moved, revealed her down-to-earth side by saying, "I need an electric kettle and cushions for my new apartment, so I need to buy those too," and declared that she will be bringing her mother to the Oscars ceremony, which will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on the 28th (local time) next month. In 2008, at the age of 13, the talented young actress was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress (for "Atonement"), and she highlighted her close relationship with her mother, saying, "It's never going to be the case that I don't take my mom with me. Even after I get married, it's always my mom who comes with me."
