Lucien Pellat-Finet will release the "Tree Chair," a wooden chair created in collaboration with architect Kengo Kuma. The chair will be available at the brand's Tokyo Midtown, Omotesando, and Shinsaibashi stores from late January 2014. The seat and back are available in five colors: white, black, gray, blue, and orange. The back and seat can also be painted different colors. The underside of the seat features Kuma's signature and the Pellat-Finet logo. It is made in Japan and comes in special cardboard packaging. The price is ¥577,500. Kuma commented at the launch, "I designed a chair reminiscent of a tree. The essence of a tree is a soft, complex structure made up of intertwined fibers. These fiber bundles, like Lucien's cashmere, envelop the human body. By taking inspiration from trees, I wanted to create a chair that is gentle on the human body." He is responsible for the store design of Lucien Pellat-Finet's Tokyo Midtown and Shinsaibashi stores.
