
Musician Rod Stewart was born on January 10, 1945, in London, England. After playing in several bands, he joined Jeff Beck's The Jeff Beck Group as a vocalist in 1966. The albums "Truth" and "Beck-Ola" were huge hits in the UK and the US. The band disbanded at the end of 1969, and he was later invited by bassist Ron Wood to join The Faces. In the 1970s, he began a solo career alongside the band. After The Faces disbanded in 1975, he moved to the US. In 1975, he released the album "Atlantic Crossing," from which the song "Sailing" became a huge hit. His follow-up album, "Night on the Town," also had a hit with "Let's Make It Tonight," which spent eight consecutive weeks at number one in the US charts. In the 2000s, he released the "The Great American Songbook" series, a collection of standard songs, for which he won a Grammy Award. In 1994, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
