The first organic booth was set up at the Tokyo Cosmetic Collection, featuring cosmetics from Italy, the UK, and other countries.

Dec 21, 2012

The 6th Tokyo Cosmetic Collection, held on December 15th, featured the first organic corner, bringing together eight brands offering natural cosmetics. Italian brand BIOFFICINA TOSCANA launched in Japan in September 2012. Rather than collecting the necessary ingredients, they designed cosmetics made from local produce in Tuscany, achieving a "Km 0" goal, reducing transportation costs and carbon dioxide emissions. They also strive to reduce waste by silk-screening directly onto recyclable bottles, eliminating the need for boxes or labels. While the brand offers a wide range of products for hair, body, and face, the most popular item is the two-layer "Double-Phase Cleanse & Remover (DOUBLE-PHASE TONER CREAM)" (2,625 yen). Its mild formula, formulated with plant-derived oils and extracts, can be used around the eyes. Its vibrant blue color comes from azulene, a component of chamomile essential oil. In Japan, it is available exclusively at Beauty Apothecary on the second basement floor of Shinjuku Isetan. Also this September, British aroma brand Fragrant Earth International launched Style Aroma (20ml for 2,625 yen, 50ml for 6,090 yen). This portable aroma spray blends essential oils for specific purposes, such as citrus oils like mandarin and grapefruit for a refreshing feel, or ylang-ylang and geranium rose for a date, making it a great way to change your mood. Additionally, the newly formulated fragrance, Grand Stoneberry 'O', was released at Beauty Apothecary on the 14th of last month. Other natural cosmetics brands featured included Erbaviva's second line, erbaorganics, and the American hair care brand Simply Organic.
