Jean-Paul Hevin, a chocolatier renowned throughout Paris as a master of chocolate, currently has four stores in the city. The Saint-Honoré store, which also houses a tea salon, boasts an unparalleled selection and is a popular spot visited daily by many customers.
The ground floor offers a selection of chocolate bars (27 varieties) and bite-sized chocolates (34 varieties), as well as chocolate-based fresh sweets and macarons, tea, cocoa, and chestnut confit. Many of the fresh sweets are limited editions, with loyal fans coming for the Mont Blanc, available only on Fridays and Saturdays, the eclairs, and the mille-feuille, available only on Saturdays. Also garnering attention is the new "Yuzu" sweet, which combines chocolate with Japanese yuzu.
In the tea salon on the second floor, you'll find a hot chocolate that starts off smooth at first sip, but gradually develops a rich, deep aroma. You can choose from cacao beans from three different regions, including Colombia, and flavors such as matcha and ramboise are also available. Lunch is also served from 12 noon to 3pm, and the piroshki, made with puff pastry, are a particularly popular menu item as they can be enjoyed easily like a sandwich. Other dishes on offer include spinach lasagna and broccoli risotto.
The interior of the shop was designed by Alain Gabrielli, and has a calm atmosphere with gold and chocolate brown as the main colors. Wi-Fi is available, and the shop is bustling every day with fashion industry people who use it for business lunches and meetings.
The address is 231, Rue Saint-Honore 75001 Paris. Opening hours are from 10am to 7:30pm. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
