Mikimoto's jewelry collection, "MIKIMOTO x HELLO KITTY," a collaboration with Sanrio's globally beloved character Hello Kitty, debuted at the Paris select shop Colette on January 24, the day after the final day of Haute Couture Week. This collaborative piece commemorates Hello Kitty's 40th anniversary and features Mikimoto's world-renowned finest pearls. The collection includes over 20 pieces, some of which are sold individually or by order. The collection showcases Mikimoto's signature quality with a sophisticated, flowing pearl necklace (set with earrings, priced at ¥29,085,000) and hair jewelry (¥9,975,000). An iconic item is a tiara adorned with ruby strawberries and mother-of-pearl flowers. When opened, the strawberries on both sides reveal Kitty and her boyfriend, Daniel, hidden within. Other relatively affordable items are also available, including a silver and pearl bangle (55,000 yen) and ring (260,000 yen).

At the unveiling at colette, models wearing balloon dresses designed by two members of balloon artist Daisy Balloon appeared wearing the jewelry. Three colette models that will not be available in Japan for some time were also announced: a blue ribbon necklace (680 euros), earrings (685 euros), and a necklace (3,970 euros). The collection will be available in Japan from the 30th at the Ginza flagship store, with advance sales at colette from the 27th.
