Christopher Kane's 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection, unveiled at London Fashion Week, was designed by Christopher Kane. The theme was "The Fusion of Technology and Nature." Neon-colored graphics represent technology, while camouflage-style graphics and materials like feathers and fur represent nature. The collection featured luxurious designs in a deep color palette of black, burgundy, and navy, including structured coats and jackets crafted from bonded blanket and leather fabrics, classic quilted skirts made by a long-established Scottish factory, and dresses featuring lace and velvet patchwork and fully embroidered tulle. The collection's signature visual is a neon-colored MRI scan of the head. It depicts Kane's own brain, evoking a Pandora's box of creativity.
According to the brand's sales representative, sales in Asia are centered on Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore, and in Japan, in addition to select shops in Tokyo, stock is expanding to Osaka and Hiroshima. The brand's unique and assertive designs, which are not overly influenced by trends, are popular. Isetan Shinjuku has also reportedly been increasing purchases over the past two or three seasons. In January of this year, the acquisition of the brand by French retail giant PPR was announced, and attention is focused on future business developments.
