Tokyo Otaku Mode, which promotes Japanese otaku culture such as anime, manga, and cosplay to the world, is collaborating with animation director Kenji Kamiyama and jewelry brand Dr. Monroe to release silver accessories for overseas markets.
Dr. Monroe designed and produced the items based on Kamiyama's original illustration of an "Angel Fossil," which he created with the image of a "great being beyond time." The six silver accessories include rings (priced from ¥15,750 to ¥37,800), bangles (¥33,600), and a fossil-motif leather choker (¥13,650) engraved with Kamiyama's motto, "WINNERS NEVER QUIT QUITTERS NEVER WIN."
Orders for overseas customers will begin on July 1st for one month on the e-commerce site "Tokyo Otaku Mode Premium Shop." In Japan, the products are available on the Dr. Monroe website and at the Nagoya and Hankyu Men's Osaka directly managed stores.
Kamiyama was born in Saitama Prefecture in 1966. He began his career as a background artist at Studio Fuga and was in charge of directing on "Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade." Starting with his first film as director, "Mini Patrol," in 2002, he has directed anime works such as the "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" series, "Guardian of the Spirit," "Eden of the East," and "009 RE:CYBORG."
