Fashion magazine Vogue will hold its fifth annual night shopping event, "FASHION'S NIGHT OUT (FNO)," on September 7th. This year, two new countries, Thailand and Ukraine, will join the event, bringing the total number of participating countries to 19. Vogue, numerous brands, and local organizations will collaborate, primarily in the Omotesando, Aoyama, and Harajuku areas. A variety of events and parties will be held, and, as in previous years, charity goods will be sold to support the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Launched in 2009 by Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue, FNO aims to support the fashion industry and spark economic recovery. It has been held in cities around the world, including London, Paris, Taipei, and Milan. Last year, the Empire State Building was lit up in FNO red on the day of the New York event. When it was held in Tokyo on September 8th last year, 467 stores, including clothing, cosmetics, and jewelry brands, participated, approximately 205,000 people attended, and sales of approximately 690 million yen were recorded. FNO ambassadors Ai Tominaga and Anna Tsuchiya, and FPM's Tomoyuki Tanaka appeared at the event, and a fashion snap contest was also held by photographer Leslie Kee.
