The Israeli chocolate bar brand "MAX BRENNER" is making its first appearance in Japan. The first store will open in Omotesando Hills on November 30th, and the second store will open in Tokyo Skytree Town Solamachi on December 20th.
Max Brenner is a chocolate brand founded in Israel in 1996. Based on the concept of "proposing new ways to enjoy chocolate," the brand operates in three formats: a chocolate restaurant, a bar, and a retail shop. Currently, the brand has expanded to 45 stores in five countries around the world, and even seven years after its opening, the New York Union Square store is still so popular that customers have to wait three hours to get in.
To celebrate the opening of the first Japanese store, executive chef Katzie Guy-Hamilton visited Japan to explain the products and demonstrate a "Strawberry Hazelnut Crepe." Katzie said, "There are no rules for enjoying Max Brenner chocolate. We want you to experience the freedom of imagination, like being a child again, as you savor our chocolate." The cafe's menu includes the "Chocolate Chunk Pizza," made with white and milk chocolate chunks topped with toasted marshmallows; the "Classic European Fondue," made with dark chocolate dipped in strawberries, bananas, chocolate brownies, marshmallows, and chocolate chip cookies; and the "Strawberry Hazelnut Crepe," made with chocolate hazelnut spread and topped with thinly sliced strawberries. Many drinks will also be served on Max Brenner's original tableware. Hot chocolate (500 yen) is served in a "hug mug" designed to resemble a cocoa bean and held with both hands, while chilled chocolate tails (700 yen) are served in an "Alice Cup" inspired by "Alice in Wonderland." The tableware will also be available for purchase in-store. To commemorate the cafe's first arrival in Japan, the first 100 customers of the Omotesando Hills and Tokyo Solamachi stores will receive a gift set of a "hug mug" and an original tote bag on opening day.
