Participating riders announced for "Burton Rail Days," a snowboarding contest held at Roppongi Hills

Oct 14, 2013

The 16 riders who will be competing in Japan's largest street snowboarding contest, "BURTON RAIL DAYS presented by MINI," to be held at Roppongi Hills Arena on November 16th, have been selected. Unlike freeriding and halfpipe competitions, street snowboarding is a sport that takes place on city streets, rather than on snow. This time, the contest will be held on a special rail at Roppongi Hills, and the world's top snowboarders, currently making waves in the snowboarding world, will be competing. Inaugural champion Jamie Nichols, who missed the podium in last year's contest, will be competing for the second consecutive year with Japanese snowboarders Yuma Abe and Ryo Eguchi. Other participants include Jed Anderson and Mark Sollers, who have recently become popular for their video parts. The winner will receive a $15,000 prize. Spectators are free to attend. The participating riders are as follows:
Alex Tank (Germany, age: 25)
Austen Sweetin (USA, age: 22)
