Karen Walker, whose sunglasses have gained popularity thanks to the likes of Charlize Theron, Rihanna, and Alexa Chung, will open her first boutique in Japan at GINZA SIX on April 20th. The brand, which launched in New Zealand in 1989, has participated in the New York Collection since 2007. Currently operating in 30 countries, it has 950 clients, including select shops and department stores. In 2013 and 2014, she was named one of BoF's "500 People Changing the Fashion World." Her chic and cute designs stylishly blend the opposing nature and urban lifestyles of her New Zealand home. She has garnered a unique fan base as a comprehensive brand offering not only eyewear but also apparel, homeware, and jewelry. In particular, the iconic sunglasses with an arrow shape from the hinge to the rim are famous as Karen Walker's signature.
While there are five directly managed stores in New Zealand, the GINZA SIX store will be the first boutique in the Northern Hemisphere, and to commemorate the opening, gold metal frame eyewear will be released.
