Adidas is releasing a reissue of models created by five passionate collectors from around the world under the title "adidas Consortium Collectors Project." The participants were invited to the adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, Germany, to visit founder Adi Dassler's birthplace, the Scheinfeld prototype manufacturing facility, and the adidas archives. As a reward for sharing their knowledge and allowing them to document their personal archives, adidas offered each collector the opportunity to remake their favorite archive model in a very limited release. Each collector collaborated with the Originals design team to create a model using premium materials and an original silhouette. From Japan, artist Naotake Magara, a member of the group MASTERPIECE SOUND, participated. The "Country" (13,650 yen), which he first saw in the fledgling magazine "Popeye" during his junior high school days, has been given a new finish and colorway, with a new model featuring blue and fluorescent color combinations. Operator EMZ, a DJ based in New York, has remade the "Pro Model 80s" (15,750 yen), a nod to the sneaker-crazy 1980s. Sneakerqueen, a Berlin-based collector influenced by hip-hop culture, has selected the "Rivalry Hi" basketball shoe (15,750 yen). Ralf Tittanen, a software engineer based in Turku, Finland, has remade the rare "Bahamas" (13,650 yen), a model he reveres like a "holy grail." London-based creative director and designer Robert Brooks chose the "ZX550" (14,700 yen), which stands out for its unique outsole structure.
In Japan, it will be sold exclusively in limited quantities at A-1 CLOTHING in Jingumae, Tokyo from the 2nd of next month.
