What if Alice in Wonderland got lost in the world of Mino ware?

Apr 14, 2014

The third installment of the Disney Collection/Japanese Life series, a Japanese tableware series for adults, is the release of Mino ware featuring "Alice in Wonderland."

Disney/Japanese Life was born from the concept that "if Disney characters travel around Japan, they'll surely rediscover wonderful things." Following the Kutani ware of Mickey and Minnie and the Hasami ware of Winnie the Pooh, this latest release expresses the world of "Alice in Wonderland" through Japanese tableware made from Mino ware, a type of pottery produced in the eastern part of the Mino region of Gifu Prefecture with a history dating back over 1,300 years.

The entire journey with the Disney characters was directed by Style Y2, a sister group dedicated to promoting Japanese craftsmanship in a "simple and fun" way. The collaboration between characters familiar from childhood and Mino ware, which has long been an integral part of Japanese life, has resulted in something that adults will enjoy.
