On April 19th, AKM held the debut collection show for "1 piu 1 uguale 3 ERIKA," a limited collection created in collaboration with actress Erika Sawajiri, at the 1 piu 1 uguale 3 Roppongi Hills store.
Uno piu 1 uguale 3 is a private collection designed by Ozawa Tomohiro, one of the founding members of "wjk" and founder of AKM. Last March, the brand participated in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo, where it presented its 2013-14 AW collection in show format. Erika Sawajiri's first project, Uno Piu Uno Uguale Tre Erika, was planned to celebrate the first anniversary of the Roppongi Hills store's opening. Sawajiri had known the designer for a while and attended the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection, which led to the collaboration taking a year to materialize. The collection, which combines the work of Uno Piu Uno Uguale Tre, which strives to create "supreme" and "ultimate" clothing, with Erika Sawajiri's own commitment to fashion, was actually planned, designed, and even selected by Sawajiri herself. This collection focuses on casual yet dress-like designs. Casual items, such as sweatshirts, hoodies, long skirts, T-shirts, and denim, are sprinkled with attention to detail. A variety of sweatshirt designs are available, from body-conscious styles with cinched waists and exposed belly buttons to styles with different materials on the inside of the hood, biker pants, and long skirts. The collection features denim and rider pants with attention to detail, including patchwork and switching of different materials, quilting, checks, and leather, as well as glitter lining the waistband.
V-neck T-shirts in pink, blue, yellow, and green, and simple gray sweatshirts feature the number "3," which is Sawajiri's lucky number, as well as the brand name.
Prices range from T-shirts for 15,000 yen to jeans in the 50,000 yen range and hoodies in the 70,000 yen range. The items will also be used in the drama "First Class," which starts tonight.
Although this limited collection was planned as a cruise collection, the brand plans to continue the series in the future, with a second installment also planned.
