MCM, a German brand founded in Munich, Germany in 1976 and a huge hit in the 1980s, opened its first directly managed flagship store in Japan, MCM GINZA HAUS 1, on April 25th on Chuo-dori in Tokyo's Ginza district (1F, Jujiya Building, 3-5-4 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo). The 330-square-meter store is divided into two sections. The main entrance side houses the Heritage Line, featuring the MCM monogram (Cognac Visetos), popular with a wide range of age groups, the premium line known as the "GOLD LINE," and women's bags. The sub-entrance section at the back offers a selection of men's and unisex bags and apparel. The central bridge displays backpacks from the Heritage Line and MCM's signature collections, along with a wide selection of accessories such as stuffed animals, wallets, and key chains. This spring, the seasonal collection "FLOWERS BOYS IN PARADISE" features bags and clothing with a kaleidoscope-like print of vibrant flowers and MCM icons, adding a touch of color to the store. This aesthetic is visually expressed on the digital panel at the entrance and two large screens installed throughout the store. The store also features a VIP room, and a leash holder will be installed at the sub-entrance for customers bringing their pet dogs after Golden Week. To commemorate the opening, Japan-exclusive and Ginza flagship store-exclusive items will also be available. The MONACO MINI (80,000 yen) and DRAWSTRING MINI (73,000 yen) are available in the Ginza flagship store colors of chalk pink and beige, respectively. Additionally, a gift will be available with every bag purchase for six days from April 25th to 30th. MCM returned to Japan this spring and began full-scale expansion. Another store in Ginza and an Osaka store are scheduled to open within the year.
