The venue was the historic Michigan Theatre. Built in 1926, this building embodies the status of American cities in terms of its scale and architectural technique.
Since his first visit to Detroit six years ago, Bottega Veneta Creative Director Daniel Lee has wanted to collaborate creatively with the people of Detroit. In collaboration with the Detroit community, Bottega Veneta celebrates the creative forces that pioneered and developed American retail and gave birth to the sounds of techno and Motown.

The collection explores American sportswear and workwear through the lens of contemporary daywear, evoking a sense of individualism and freedom. Fabrics incorporate innovative metallic threads, which are used to manipulate the garment shapes. Ideas of proportion and structure are challenged, with garments being squashed and flattened.

The bag collection plays with iconic Bottega Veneta codes such as tire boots, triangles and textured materials, while classic Bottega Veneta pieces feature industrial and mechanically inspired metal pieces.

Footwear also features a new signature triangular sandal toe and a new slingback style, incorporating sneaker technology into the high heel.
