The "Disney Art Exhibition," featuring a collection of precious Disney cels and figurines, is currently being held at Isetan Men's Residence on the 8th floor of Isetan Men's Building. It runs until May 6th. The store exhibits and sells cels from early feature and short films, as well as hard-to-find cels for sale, and Disney character figurines. Few cels from early films remain, making them valuable items. The cels, created using traditional techniques by Disney Studio artists, depict famous scenes from the films. The "Walt Disney Classic Collection (WDCC)" series features figurines based on scenes from films such as "Snow White" and "Sleeping Beauty." Each ceramic figurine is handcrafted by artisans using molds created based on sketches from the original works. The works were created by artists involved in the productions, including Disney Studio animators, coloring artists, and sculptors, using the techniques of the original animation. Their vibrant expressions make them seem as if they've jumped right out of the film. Also on sale will be the "Britto" figurine series (mini: ¥3,000, large: ¥11,000), featuring colorful reproductions of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and other Disney characters. Created by Brazilian contemporary pop artist Romero Britto, Britto is characterized by its bold and unique use of color, a style known as Neo-Cubism. Other writing implements include limited-edition, serially numbered "CROSS" ballpoint pens (Cinderella, limited to 3,000 units worldwide, ¥25,000; Alice, limited to 1,400 units worldwide, ¥28,000), and gel ink pens (two colors, ¥3,000 each) featuring character emblems on the clips. During the event, a character artist will be demonstrating drawing on May 3rd. Customers who purchase products worth over 30,000 yen will have their favorite character drawn on the spot and given as a gift (Event times: 12, 2, 4, and 6 p.m., approximately 45 minutes per session. Schedule may change due to circumstances).
