On April 1st, tricot COMME des GARÇONS unveiled its 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter collection. The designer was Tao Kurihara. Following on from last season's theme, "elegance," the collection's materials were eye-catching. The glossy black outerwear was made of cotton fleece with a coating that gave it a synthetic leather-like texture. The pants, which change appearance with movement, feature gingham check with a velvet finish. Floral patterns were also showcased using a variety of techniques. Georgette tops featured roses in an opalescent finish, floral prints on velvet, and jacquard floral patterns, creating a diverse range of blooms. A series of prints featuring photographs of opalescent patterns arranged like patchworks was also introduced. These blended together to create depth within the neutral palette. The silhouettes were generally voluminous, including A-line dresses, cocoon-shaped coats, flared skirts, and down quilting. The collection also featured cute puff sleeves.
