【About each pattern】

〇 Sapphire Garden
This pattern is inspired by a journey from continental Europe to Asia (India, Vietnam, and Japan). The pattern is filled with an exotic atmosphere that will excite the viewer, from temple monkeys to vibrantly colored flowers. The depicted flowers are based on an archive design from the late 1820s.

○ Pink Lotus
The pink water lily represents the development of wisdom and knowledge, and is also a symbol of divinity in tropical Asia. The design shows birds and butterflies flocking to the gorgeous fragrance that spreads from the large flowers.

〇 Menagerie
A menagerie was an exhibition facility in early modern Europe where royalty and aristocrats gathered animals from both Japan and abroad, similar to what we would call a zoo today. The painting features vibrant depictions of Brazilian parrots and water lilies, giving off a powerful impression.

〇 Water Lily
These beautiful, large, blooming flowers are water lilies that thrive in the tropical climate of the Amazon. This pattern is inspired by the water lily pattern developed in the 1800s by John Wedgwood, the eldest son of Josiah Wedgwood and one of the founders of the Royal Horticultural Society, who had a strong interest in cultivating exotic plants.

Behind the Patterns by WEDGWOOD

https://youtu.be/XPy7DGS934g

Wedgwood product designs are developed in the design studio at Wedgwood's headquarters in Barlaston, UK. The new Wanderlust design was created by Senior Designer Gwyn Hilton. She says, "Whenever I design, I find some hidden inspiration. I see something and imagine, 'I'll use this flower. I'll use this style.' I do numerous tracings and sketches in pencil, then color with watercolors. I also use fabric dyes to enhance the colors. That's how the vibrant colors come out." The design is completed by repeatedly checking the color tone and pattern.
