FURLA, celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, will release the second installment of its anniversary collection in mid-May, following the Japan-exclusive paper-cutting motif bag collection released in March.

The collection features a new model of the brand's iconic "METROPOLIS" bag, which can be customized to your liking by combining the flap and body. Looking back over the 90 years from the brand's founding in the 1920s to the 2000s, nine different flap designs have been created, inspired by the music and color schemes that symbolize each decade.

The 1920s-inspired flap is made of silver velvet and adorned with various large and small jewels, evoking the glamorous world of American author F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel "The Great Gatsby." The flaps from the 1950s and 1960s, when music by Elvis Presley and The Beatles was a global phenomenon, feature bold designs featuring studs on calf leather and a combination of neon jukebox colors, monochrome Union Jacks, and turntables. The 1990s design, accented with chunky chains, exudes an American vibe, blending hip-hop and sporty elements. The final piece in the commemorative collection, the 2000s, features a "robot face" design featuring studs and rhinestones on laminated silver leather. This motif, symbolizing cutting-edge technology, expresses the craftsmanship the brand has cultivated over the past 90 years. Each flap is priced at ¥25,000. The body, available in five colors—ruby red, gold khaki, pale pink, white, and black—is priced at ¥37,000 each. Available at Furla stores nationwide.
