Cafe Dior, designed by Pierre Hermé Paris, opens in Japan for the first time. Enjoy your meal on Dior tableware.

May 14, 2017

Cafe Dior by Pierre Hermé, designed by Pierre Hermé Paris, is located on the fourth floor of Dior's new flagship store, House of Dior Ginza, which opened at Ginza Six. This collaboration between two iconic French brands marks the brand's second store worldwide, following its first in Seoul, South Korea. Like the Seoul store, the interior is based on silver and white, with pastel-toned chairs adding soft accents. At the long counter, patrons can watch pastry chefs carefully prepare desserts. The cafe is located next to the corner selling Dior Maison, the brand's home collection, which is also making its Japan debut. All menu items are served on luxurious Dior tableware. The tableware will also be available for purchase on the same floor. At the time of opening, the cafe will offer seven fruit-based desserts, including "La Pastéque Comme Une Tartine" (2,700 yen), a tart made with the ripest watermelon from Kochi and other areas, paired with violet-flavored candy and yogurt ice cream, and "Pain Perdu Mangue Caramel et Noix de Coco" (2,500 yen), made with Miyazaki mango. The cafe will also offer macarons and chocolates. There are over 20 drinks to choose from, including original soy milk juices, coffee, tea, and alcoholic beverages. In keeping with Hermé's fascination with and ongoing exploration of Japanese ingredients, the limited-edition menu will feature carefully selected Japanese ingredients, and the menu will change with each season. The ability to enjoy seasonal menus is one of the cafe's greatest attractions.
