Pottery made by the "Okami" (wife) who works behind the scenes to support the artisans at the kiln. Spreading the new appeal of Mino ware

May 16, 2017

Coto mono michi at TOKYO in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, is holding a planned sales exhibition, "Toki Pottery: Pottery by the Landlady of Toki - Mino Ware Landlady's Workshop Exhibition," from May 16th to June 6th.

The workshop focuses on the landlady who works at the pottery, conveying the beauty of Mino ware and pottery from a female perspective. To spread the new appeal of Mino ware, the landlady herself will be planning and selling products such as Hiroko Yamauchi's "Night Blue Hospitality: A Dinner Series to Look Good With" (from 2,300 yen) from Yamakasai Wood Pottery, Mayumi Takagi's "Hand-Carved Single Flower Vase" (3,500 yen) from Yamako Takagi Wood Pottery, and Kumiko Tanaka's "-Colored Sake Cup- Pair" (7,000 yen including tax) from Kaneta Tanaka Pottery.

Also, on May 20th and 21st, there will be a workshop called "Making Mino Ware Art Deco Seseki (※) Accessories," where you can design and paint a brooch. It is limited to eight people per session and costs 5,000 yen.
