To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Fujio Akatsuka's birth and the 50th anniversary of "Tensai Bakabon" and "Moeru Ataro," the "Spring Bichutsu Exhibition" will be held at Gallery X by Parco in Shibuya, Tokyo from April 27th to May 14th.
The "Bichutsu Exhibition" was held in 2015 as part of the 80th anniversary of Fujio Akatsuka's birth and attracted a great deal of attention for its display of parodies and homages by a total of 20 artists who were influenced by Akatsuka, including Takashi Murakami and Tomoo Gokita. The upcoming "Spring Bichutsu Exhibition" will feature rare reproductions of original artwork, including tribute works such as "Osomatsu-kun" and "Himitsu no Akko-chan." In addition, the exhibition will highlight "Tensai Bakabon" and "Moeru Ataro," which celebrated their 50th anniversaries in 2017, showcasing the reproductions in a story-like format. In addition to the exhibits, there will also be a reading corner, allowing visitors to experience Fujio Akatsuka's worldview from various perspectives, focusing on the history of both series. Other limited-edition merchandise available for purchase includes 10 T-shirts (¥3,000 each), can badges (¥400 each), acrylic key chains (¥650 each), and five tote bags (¥2,500).
