Starting May 26th, all PASS THE BATON stores will be selling "PASS THE BATON Original Gift Envelopes" (two colors/800 yen each), made with deadstock sliding door paper.
These items are made with deadstock sliding door paper, thanks to a collaboration with Taki Paper Mill, a company that was founded in 1875 and specializes in Echizen washi paper. The paper surface features a glossy pattern known as "hikake," created using a traditional technique that is now rare. The gorgeous paper surface features embossed floral and plant patterns, and KIGI, the creative unit consisting of Ryosuke Uehara and Yoshie Watanabe, has placed original PASS THE BATON graphics on the surface, adding a plum-knotted mizuhiki cord, a traditional celebratory decoration. The envelopes come in two colors, pink and green, each featuring a different hikake pattern. They can be used for a variety of celebrations, including weddings, births, and graduations.
