The 16-17 Autumn/Winter collection, the sixth collaboration between UNIQLO and Ines de la Fressange, will be released sequentially on September 9th. A special floor featuring the full range of items will open on the 12th floor of the UNIQLO Ginza store from the same day until September 28th. The first show since the collaboration was held there on the 8th.
This autumn/winter theme is "Paris in the 1960s, a time of fashion change." Items based on three motifs were unveiled: "Classic & Elegance," "Chic & Noir," and "70s Style & Rock." The color palette features a first for the collection: muted gradations of charcoal and dark gray, accented with vivid reds and blues.
The first look features a vibrant peacock blue short-sleeved knit and gray slacks. Next, the collection shifted from items evocative of refined bourgeois style, such as cashmere knit ensembles, velvet jackets, and ruffled shirts, to pieces evoking the sophisticated Parisian woman in muted black and gray tones, such as chesterfield coats, black turtleneck sweaters, and berets. In the second half, items evoking the free and open mood of the 1970s, such as mohair argyle knitwear, corduroy pants, and miniskirts, were introduced, adding a happy aura to autumn and winter fashion, which can often be heavy. A total of 24 looks were featured.
Available at select Uniqlo stores and the Uniqlo online store. The second wave is scheduled to be released on October 21st, and the third wave on November 11th.
