Christophe Lemaire, designer of Lemaire, has been appointed artistic director of UNIQLO's UNIQLO Paris R&D Center.
Christophe Lemaire has previously served as artistic director of world-renowned brands and fashion houses such as LACOSTE and HERMES. Last October, Lemaire and UNIQLO released their first collaboration collection, "UNIQLO AND LEMAIRE," and in March of this year, their final collection, the 2016 Spring/Summer collection, was released.
In his first venture as artistic director of the UNIQLO Paris R&D Center, he will launch "Uniqlo U," a new Paris-based line that will be available at UNIQLO stores worldwide from the 2016-2017 Autumn/Winter season. The line's products will be unveiled in Paris in early July.
Regarding his appointment, Christophe Lemaire commented, "Through my work on the UNIQLO AND LEMAIRE collection, I have been impressed by UNIQLO's commitment to product creation, high quality, and teamwork, and have always found them inspiring. As a designer, I find it both a great challenge and a joy to be involved in designing UNIQLO's LifeWear, which is on a large scale as everyday clothing for people all over the world, as part of this team."
