On September 10th, adidas Originals unveiled its collaborative collection with designer Alexander Wang at Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer 2017 show in New York. The collection, unveiled at Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer 2017 show through a surprise finale and teaser video, features 84 pieces created from the idea of overturning commonly accepted rules, based on the concept of "disrupting the boundaries between fashion and streetwear." The adidas Originals Trefoil and "Originals" logo are inverted and used as the new symbol of the collaborative collection. In keeping with the speedy era, the first capsule collection will be available for purchase at three pop-up truck locations in New York starting September 11th, the day after the collection's unveiling. The pop-up truck will also be available in London and Tokyo (4-31-12 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, from 11:00 AM) on September 17th. The first capsule collection will feature nine styles exclusive to the pop-up truck. These include T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies with graphic appliqués, as well as shorts and jerseys with an all-over double-name monogram print. Also featured is the "AW SKATE," one of three footwear styles in the collaboration collection. It features herringbone foxing tape around the sole and an inverted trefoil created with needle punching, with Italian suede overlays on the upper. The lookbook, shot on the streets of New York in August, was photographed by Juergen Teller and styled by Karl Templer. Models include Rocco Ritchie, appearing in his first campaign for the brand, as well as Hanne Gaby Odiele, Binx Walton, Lexi Boling, and Luke Storey Chris Fernandez, all familiar faces from Alexander Wang's shows.
