Cafe de Chaya, located on the 5th floor of Takashimaya Yokohama, is collaborating with four popular bakeries in Tokyo and Yokohama to hold the "Toast French!!" fair from October 1st to December 31st.
French toast is gaining attention alongside pancakes and eggs Benedict, and each bakery has introduced a special French toast made with the signature bread of their choice. Bread-Plant OZ (4-1-19 Yakumo, Meguro-ku, Tokyo) in Komazawa is offering "Fruit Milk Toast French" (1,200 yen), made with an exquisite baguette that was selected as one of the "Top 10 Baguettes in Japan," and garnished with seasonal fruits and cream.
Boulangerie 14th Arrondissement (1-4-2 Kikuna, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture) in Myorenji has created a popular bread containing figs and cereals, called "Cereal Fig Prosciutto Camembert Toast French" (1,200 yen).
TOLO PAN TOKYO (1F Nakazato Building, 3-14-3 Higashiyama, Meguro-ku, Tokyo) in Ikejiri-Ohashi has prepared a "Cold Cocoa Toast French" (1,000 yen) using "Toroclo," a rye cocoa bread that has a bitter aroma despite its sweet-sounding name. Yoga bakery PELTA (3-15-6 Yoga, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo) will be introducing its most popular bread, Toast PELTA, and An Toast French (1,000 yen), which uses special bean paste. Bread Plant Oz and Boulangerie 14th Ward's menus will be available from October 1st to November 16th, while Tropan Tokyo and PELTA will be available from the following day, the 17th, until December 31st.
