On February 16th, Miu Miu premiered "SEED," the 11th installment of its "MIU MIU WOMEN'S TALES" short film project, which features internationally acclaimed female directors, in New York.
The "MIU MIU WOMEN'S TALES" project is a short film series showcasing works by internationally acclaimed female directors that celebrate femininity in the 21st century with a sharp perspective. Launched in 2011, 10 short films have been released to date, each depicting a different cinematic world. These films have been screened at the Venice Days program and at the New York Collection.
This 11th installment was created by Japanese director Naomi Kawase, who has won multiple awards at the Cannes Film Festival. The protagonist is Sakura Ando, who has won numerous film awards both in Japan and abroad. In the film, Sakura Ando plays a young girl who embarks on a journey from the wild nature of Nara to the chaotic crowds of Tokyo. The music is by Sakanaction. Following its New York premiere, the film is scheduled to be screened at the Venice Days section of the Venice Film Festival in September.
