■Dick Bruna Design Exhibition Held: What is the Reason for Miffy's Simplicity?
The "Dick Bruna Design Exhibition: The True Nature of Simplicity," which traces the design history of Dutch picture book author Dick Bruna, will be held until May 8th at the Event Square on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza in Ginza, Tokyo. The exhibition will feature approximately 500 items, including over 200 paper bags, approximately 40 original designs and sketches, approximately 30 original illustrations from picture books such as Miffy and Boris, and reproductions of posters.
■The Peanuts gang will gather together to celebrate the Snoopy Museum's first anniversary!
"Peanuts Gang All-Stars! --Introduce Your Friends, Snoopy!" will be held at the Snoopy Museum in Roppongi, Tokyo, until September 24th. As part of the first-anniversary campaign, visitors from April 22nd to June 30th will receive gifts.
■A mobile amusement park at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse! Enjoy beer and food at the "Yokohama Frühlingsfest" spring festival during Golden Week
To commemorate the 15th anniversary of its reopening, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will be holding "Yokohama Frühlingsfest 2017," an event that recreates a German spring festival, from April 28th to May 7th. In addition to being able to enjoy German beer, sausages, and other food, there will be more attractions for children, and a merry-go-round that families can ride together.
■An exhibition will be held that brings together "children's tools" from all 47 prefectures. Parent-child workshops also available
The "47 Children's Tools Exhibition" will be held at the d47 MUSEUM on the 8th floor of Shibuya Hikarie until June 11th. One tool from each of Japan's 47 prefectures has been selected and exhibited for sale, utilizing techniques and resources from all over the country and designed for children to use. In addition to selling children's toys and tools, such as "vegetable crayons" that are safe to eat and wooden bikes made using traditional techniques, the exhibition will also host parent-child workshops.
■Get in touch with the forest through play, learning, and food. ARK Hills to host "Wood Education" event for parents and children to enjoy during Golden Week
From May 3rd to 5th, an event for parents and children called "Let's play with trees, let's think about forests with more trees" will be held at ARK Karajan Square in ARK Hills, Akasaka, Tokyo. There will be an area where you can experience the scent and texture of wood with your whole body using building blocks and toys made from domestic wood, as well as a workshop experience corner, and a wooden mobile home called "JYUBAKO" designed by Kengo Kuma.
