May 17, 2016

"Popup Portland 2016," bringing together designers and artisans recommended by the city of Portland, will be held on May 21st and 22nd at the Terrada Warehouse Waterfront Special Venue in Tennozu Isle, Tokyo, and other locations.

"Popup Portland" is an event where designers and artisans from brands recommended by the city of Portland visit Japan to directly introduce their products and interact with people, with the aim of deepening exchanges with Japan through craft culture. This year, the third year of the event, will see the creators of five brands make their first appearance in Japan, as well as hosting a market and workshops featuring food and items from Portland and Tennozu Isle. The pop-up store will feature brands such as Orox Leather Co., which offers stylish leather goods; Hand-Eye Supply, which offers functional and unique DIY and craft tools; Cycle Dog, which offers dog products made from recycled materials; GoumikIds, which offers functional and beautiful baby products that take babies' movements into consideration; and Portland Gear, which offers casual wear. Other events planned at the venue include talk sessions with Ryohei Suita, author of "GREEN Neighborhood," and Daisuke Matsushima, owner of PADDLERS COFFEE, as well as a photo exhibition from lifestyle magazine "KINFOLK."
