©TAKAYPicking up on the collaboration with visual artist James Jean, which was announced at Yohji Yamamoto HOMME 2021-22AW Paris Digital Fashion Week, a new capsule collection of 12 items including velvet rider jackets, short-sleeved printed shirts, and printed T-shirts will be available at a pop-up on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building (August 25th to September 7th) and at a limited-time store on the first floor of Hankyu Men's Tokyo (September 3rd onwards).
Six vibrantly colored, dreamy paintings and drawings from James Jean's archives have been selected and expressed as prints on the theme of "eroticism and melancholy."
James Jean is a visual artist based in Los Angeles. Known for his imaginative and multifaceted ability to create works across different genres, he has established a unique worldview that is unbound by time or space, employing a variety of techniques, from Baroque traditions to Japanese woodblock prints and traditional Chinese picture scrolls.
This special collaboration is the fusion of the two identities of Yohji Yamamoto, who adheres to a unique style that is not bound by preconceived notions of "clothing," and James Jean, whose creativity transcends the boundaries of "time and space."
