New Melsa, a shopping mall in Tokyo's Ginza district, reopened on September 18th as EXIT MELSA. It was announced that a total of 39 stores will be opening, including some that are new to Japan, Tokyo, and Ginza.
The new name, "EXIT MELSA," incorporates the English word "EXIT," reflecting the idea that "an exit is always also a gateway to another world." It conveys the message of breaking away from everyday values and rediscovering one's true self, as well as the meaning of "an exit (breaking away) from the Melsa of the past and an entrance to a new Melsa."
The target demographic is the "creative 30s woman" who is free from past concepts and chooses new richness with her own unique perspective. Based on the concept of "casual elegance," the store offers a selection of items that exude attention to detail and elegance at affordable prices. The building will consist of eight floors above ground and one basement, covering an area of approximately 5,000 square meters and featuring a total of 39 stores, including 27 retail outlets, 11 restaurants, and one service store. The general store lineup will include amorico, a select shop selling kitchen goods; CLASKA Gallery & Shop "DO"; the popular Spanish general store muy mucho; pam & more, a childcare lifestyle store bringing together baby brands from around the world; and Kyushu Pancake Kitchen, which sells pancakes and kitchen goods. Food options include RACINES Meatball & Local Table, a meatball specialty store from RACINES, a restaurant known for its constant queues; Restaurant Air, a new venture combining a popular Ebisu restaurant and bistro; and Chitose Hosozawa Farm, where you can enjoy soft serve ice cream made with freshly squeezed milk from the farm's own farm. The mall will also feature the first Tokyo branch of Sanriku Ofunato Marushichi, which was damaged in the Great East Japan Earthquake, as well as a new branch of Gumbo & Oyster Bar, run by Human Web, Japan's largest oyster bar chain.
