
This fall, Hermès is promoting the worldview of men's artistic director Véronique Nichanian through various events, special websites, and more, under the theme "The Nature of Men." The limited-time boutique "The Nature of Men," which will be open on the first floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building from October 5th to November 8th, is part of this initiative. Based on the idea that "nature" for modern men equates to "city," "The Nature of Men" will create a worldview inspired by intelligent urbanites. This image is driven by graphic illustrations of urban motifs by Irish illustrator Nigel Peake, who designs scarves for Hermès. The boutique's façade and Nigel's urban motifs reflect a color palette of turquoise, navy, and gray, in addition to raspberry, which was used as an accent color in this season's ready-to-wear looks. The boutique will feature the latest men's collection, including AW16 ready-to-wear, shoes, leather goods, and ties. Also available will be Japan-exclusive "The Nature of Men" items, created under Véronique's direction. "The Nature of Men" illustrations are featured on everyday items such as basic T-shirts, knitwear, shoes, lozenge (diamond-shaped scarves), and leather accessories embossed with urban motifs. The limited-edition items will be available for pre-sale at the boutique, Hermès Ginza store, and Hermès online boutique from October 5th, and will be available in select Hermès boutiques from October 15th. Hermès continues to create new connections with its customers. This season, the brand launched the world's only official Hermès LINE account in Japan, and last weekend held a live painting and DJ event on Cat Street in Harajuku. A Hermès representative commented, "We don't just welcome customers in our boutique; we also want to venture out into the city to meet people who have never encountered Hermès before." This weekend, on the 8th and 9th, parkour artist URBAN UNION will be performing a dance performance at R/O-426 in Harajuku.
