German parenting brand Cybex (CTP JAPAN Co., Ltd.) will launch the "AVI" and "ZENO" strollers from its new "SPORTS Collection" series on Sports Day, July 23, 2021. Based on the concept of "SHAPE YOU UP!", this series is designed for moms and dads who want to enjoy sports without changing their lifestyles even while raising children. By using a stroller that is strong and has little vibration, you can run while keeping an eye on your child.

■Moms' Exercise Situation After Childbirth... Approximately 90% of mothers have reduced their exercise time since their child was born.

In preparation for the release of the "AVI" and "ZENO" sports collections, Cybex conducted a survey on "post-pregnancy exercise habits." We asked 500 mothers with children aged 6 months to 4 years who had exercise habits before giving birth about changes in their exercise habits before and after giving birth.

- Survey participants: 500 mothers with children aged 6 months to 4 years who had exercise habits before giving birth (※) (evenly distributed by child's age)
* Those who answered in the preliminary survey that "before giving birth, I had the habit of exercising at least twice a week for at least 30 minutes each time"
- Survey period: June 30th to July 1st, 2021
- Survey method: Online survey
◆No time, can't leave my child behind, feel guilty about leaving them with someone... Moms' exercise is full of hurdles.
First, when asked about the things they "have less time or can no longer find time for than before giving birth" after giving birth, 75% of mothers answered "exercise," along with "beauty" (78%) and "sleep" (75%). This result exceeded answers such as "shopping" (74%), "eating out" (72%), and "travel/leisure" (62%).
So, when we asked again about "the amount of exercise you do since your child was born," 86%, or nearly 90%, answered "less than before giving birth." Specific reasons given included, "There are so many things that have to take priority with childcare and housework, so I have no choice but to put my own needs, including exercise, on the back burner (34-year-old)," "I used to go to the gym before giving birth, but since giving birth I've been so busy with childcare that I don't have the time, place, or opportunity to exercise (38-year-old)," and "I want to go for a walk, but I can't leave my child behind and go outside, and I can't leave my child with anyone (30-year-old)." These findings suggest that many moms find it physically difficult to find the time or can't leave their children behind to exercise. There were also many comments such as, "I feel guilty about leaving my child with someone else so I can exercise (40 years old)," and even if they were able to leave their child with someone else, "I feel so guilty I can't enjoy it wholeheartedly." In another question, a whopping 60% of moms answered, "I feel guilty about making time for myself to exercise while raising my child."

◆Moms who actually want to enjoy exercise more... Approximately 70% are interested in "buggy runs" using strollers!
However, on the other hand, 98% of people feel they are "not getting enough exercise compared to before giving birth." Additionally, 93% of moms answered that they "really want to enjoy exercise more," and 96% said that they "want to know if there's a way to continue exercising with my young children without putting too much strain on them."
For moms and dads raising children like this, we recommend the "buggy run." The "buggy run" is a new style of exercise that uses a stroller. Using a highly safe stroller, you can run or walk with your child. It's already popular in Europe and the United States, and special strollers compatible with the "buggy run" are now on the market.
After explaining about the "buggy run," we asked moms in this survey if they were interested in it. Nearly 70% (65%) of moms answered "yes." Interest was particularly high among moms with younger children, with 85% of moms with children between 6 months and 1 year old and 78% of moms with children 1 year old saying they were "interested." The reasons given were, "If I could do something like running as an extension of a walk with my child, it would be good exercise (39 years old)," "If parent and child are together, the child would enjoy it too. I thought it would be like playing with my child (33 years old)," "I use a stroller every day, so I thought it might be the right exercise for me (35 years old)," and "If I can do the exercise while watching my child, I don't have to leave them with them and I don't feel guilty (38 years old)." With a "buggy run," many moms feel that because they can enjoy it together with their children, they can exercise as an extension of their normal life without feeling guilty.

 ZENO
ZENO
Cybex will launch the new "AVI" and "ZENO" strollers from its "SPORTS Collection" series on July 23, 2021, which is Sports Day. This sports collection was born from the belief of Cybex founder Martin Pos, a former athlete and parent himself, that "parents' ability to stay active and freely participate in sports leads to a happier life." Based on the concept of "SHAPE YOU UP!", these strollers encourage parents who are already accustomed to exercise and workouts to continue living an active life even after their children arrive.
The "AVI" and "ZENO" strollers promote the "buggy run" style of exercise. The "buggy run" is a new exercise style that allows parents to keep moving while keeping an eye on their children, and has already gained popularity among exercise-loving parents overseas. Unlike regular strollers, the AVI stroller is designed with high durability, allowing you to run while pushing it. Its low vibrations ensure peace of mind even with your child inside. Furthermore, the optional "Multiple Kit" for the ZENO allows you to enjoy a wider range of sports, including hands-free running, cycling, and cross-country skiing (not available in Japan). In addition to safety and functionality, the stylish design is also appealing. Both the AVI and ZENO have won the 2021 Red Dot Design Award, an internationally renowned design award that has been held since 1955. This award is given only to products that pass a rigorous screening process by design experts at the Design Center North Rhine-Westphalia in Essen, Germany. The AVI and ZENO received the 2021 award after meeting various criteria, including innovation, functionality, and quality.
By continuing to expand its sports collection, including "AVI" and "ZENO," Cybex hopes to continue supporting moms and dads around the world in living their own active lifestyles.
