Photographer Miyahara Yumega's solo exhibition "Shinken Shirahadori" will be held at the 72 Gallery in the Tokyo Institute of Photography in Kyobashi, Tokyo, from May 14th to June 1st.
The exhibition features photographs taken by Miyahara over the 23 years since he first picked up a camera. The photo book of the same name, "Shinken Shirahadori" (7,400 yen), will also be released on the opening day. "I picked up sounds that I felt in some way. By arranging musical notes of various scales, a melody was created. This melody weaves together a variety of emotions, including surprise, joy, sadness, and laughter," Miyahara commented. A reception party will be held on the 24th at 7:00 PM.
Miyahara was born in Tokyo in 1971. He enrolled at the Visual Arts School in 1991 and won an award at the JPS Exhibition in 1992. He has held solo exhibitions not only in Japan but also in Milan and Munich. He works on fashion and beauty photography, and has also been in charge of advertising visuals for "JULIUS," "MIHARAYASUHIRO," "TAKEO KIKUCHI," "LIMI feu," and Laforet Harajuku.
