Air France's new first class is a flying suite, with Givenchy amenities

May 21, 2014

Air France has unveiled a new cabin for its first-class "La Première" cabin.

As part of its "Best and Beyond" initiative, which aims to provide an even higher quality service product on long-haul flights, the cabin was conceived by Air France and manufactured by B/E Aerospace. The design was created in collaboration with design consulting agency Priestman Goode and design and branding consulting agency Brandiimage.

The fully flat bed, measuring over two meters long and 77 cm wide, can be adjusted to your desired comfort with comfortable bedding, and thick fabric curtains and partitions can be used to create a private space of three square meters. The suite can also be used as a two-person space, allowing guests to sit on the ottoman opposite the seat for conversation or a meal. The cabin interior is finished in leather-like materials, with leather-upholstered headrests and armrests, and thick, tweed-like metallic fabric on the seats, creating an elegant impression. The meals feature premium ingredients such as caviar (for flights departing Paris from October), champagne, and foie gras, and menus have been created by chefs including Joël Robuchon, Régis Marcon, who introduced the culinary culture of various regions of France, Guy Martin of Le Grand Vefour, and Anne-Sophie Pic, the first female three-star chef. The tableware, which will be introduced in December, is designed by French designer Jean-Marie Massaud, with cutlery by Christofle and ceramics by Bernardaud.

Amenities include a Givenchy pouch and a set of face cream, eye roll-on serum, lip balm, and hand cream. Relax wear is also provided.

The 76-seat suites will be gradually introduced on Le Première's 19 long-haul Boeing B777-300 aircraft starting in September 2014. Additionally, the special exhibition "Air France, France is in the air," showcasing the new first class and the recently announced cabins for all classes, as well as Air France's new travel concepts, will be held in Shanghai (completed), New York (invitation-only, June 26-28), and Paris (September 20-21). The exhibition in Paris will be open to the public at the Grand Palais.
