The first bar branch of BEEFMAN, a popular Roppongi yakiniku restaurant, has opened in Nakameguro, Tokyo. Located at 1-14-9 Kamimeguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo, on the second floor of ST Sakurabashi Building A, it seats 32. The restaurant serves Tajima beef raised at Kawagishi Farm in Hyogo, a farm known for producing many high-quality cattle, as well as around 30 types of wine at reasonable prices. The restaurant recommends a wine that matches the menu based on the texture, firmness, and fat content of the recommended cut of beef of the day. The steaks from carefully selected Tajima beef (starting at 1,204 yen per 100g) are perfectly tender and simply seasoned with salt and pepper. Small portions are available. The roux in the "Beef Cheek Stew in Red Wine" (1,296 yen) is packed with the delicious flavor of the meat, and the tender, slowly simmered beef pairs perfectly with the smooth potatoes. The "Tajima Beef Mini Hamburger and Cheese Grill with Tomato Sauce" (1,111 yen) is a small but substantial bite-sized hamburger steak topped with smooth cheese, creating an addictively delicious flavor.
In addition to dishes using Tajima beef, there is also a wide selection of dishes that go well with alcohol, such as the "Potato and Beef Omelet" (630 yen) and the "Spicy Mayonnaise Fried Chicken" (630 yen), which features sweet and spicy fried chicken seasoned in a chicken nanban style with mayonnaise sauce.
The reason for opening this time as a "bar" rather than a yakiniku restaurant is to allow customers to easily hop between the many bars in the Nakameguro area. The restaurant expects the average customer spend to be between 3,000 and 4,000 yen, but it's attractive to be able to enjoy delicious wine and rare Tajima beef, which is hard to find in Tokyo, at this price.
Lunchtime is from 11:30am to 2:30pm, and dinnertime is from 6pm to 1am. In the future, they plan to offer a hamburger lunch to spread the deliciousness of Tajima beef.
